Another Year Another 365 Dollars

Recently, we have added two new taps in the Halifax area. Obladee Wine Bar is a new establishment on Barrington at the corner of Sackville street. They have been selling Ringwood Pale ale since they opened in October. We are also selling Peculiar Strong Ale at Inn on the Lake in Fall River, Nova Scotia. Inn on the Lake is a charming boutique hotel with a very attractive pub.
In Ontario, the Granite recieved three Golden Tap Awards, including Best Cask Conditioned Ale (Hopping Mad), Best Microbrewery for Cask Conditioned Ale, and Best Brew Pub.

Granite Brewery 25th Anniversary Ale Released
April 21, 2010.
Granite Special Bitter is now on sale at the Beer Store in two litre growlers. GBS is a dry bitter beer that is brewed with 100 percent organic materials. It is a stronger version of our Best Bitter which was the first beer we brewed back in April 1985.
GBS comes in at 5.3%ABV, it is hopped with Goldings and Hallertau hops. Also, it was dry hopped with Hallertau during its conditioning.
GSB will also be avaliable at the Lion's Head Tavern and the Wooden Monkey.
Third Brew of Old Cardinal Released
March 7, 2010:
We have just released the third brew of Old Cardinal Abbey Ale. Old Cardinal has proven very popular. We only intended on one brew for the entire winter.
In January, we installed two taps at Gatsby's Restaurant on Spring Garden Road. Gatsby's is selling Peculiar and Ringwood.
We also are selling Ringwood at MacAskill's Waterfront Restaurant.
Old Cardinal Ale now for Sale
December 24, 2009:
On December 23, at a special Halifax Farmers' Market the Granite Brewery released our newest ale. Old Cardinal is a Trappist inspired Belgian beer. It is brewed with 2 row and roasted barley and sweetend with Nova Scotian honey. Golding hops were used for aroma and Hallertauer hops for bittering. Naturally, our Ringwood yeast was used during the fermentation. The original gravity is 1068 and the alcohol by volume is 6.8 per cent.
Old Cardinal will be for sale at the beer store in our 2 Litre growlers. You will also be able to find it on draught at the Lion's Head Tavern.
Granite Brewery Wins Golden Tap Award for Best Cask Conditioned Brewery.
The Granite Brewery has won a Golden Tap Award as Ontario's Best Cask Conditioned Brewery. Bar Towel is Ontario's premier beer resourse and over many years has reviewed nearly every aspect of the brewing industry in Ontario. It is also worth saying that two other winners, C'est What (best draught selection) and Volo (best bar for cask conditioned ale) both sell Granite Products.
